I've always been intrigued by tops with uniquely patterned backs. So
naturally, I had to try and make my own. Here's how I did it..
Supplies: Cotton top, assortment of ribbon.
Pantry Supplies: Scissors, fabric glue, sewing machine.
First,
cut out a square in the back of the shirt. Then, sew the hem of the
square you just cut out. You technically don't have to do this step if
your top is fabric that won't fray. Next, sew on strips of ribbon
horizontally. Then, make a lattice pattern by intertwining strips of
ribbon vertically. Lastly, apply small dots of fabric glue in between
the crossing ribbon so that the pattern stays firmly in place.
p.s. Congratulations, Alex!
